How was your weekend?
Friday:Mine started out stressful because I had to call into work on Friday because my wife has been experiencing pain & numbness in her left arm...I found this out Thurs. night/Friday morning after she got up because she couldn't sleep. Well she went to see her Primary Care Physician on Friday who scheduled her for an MRI but couldn't really treat the problem. Friday night about 6-6:15pm my wife starts talking to me about her arm bothering her and she'd rather me not go into work just in case...well I "out sick" as little as possible because if read my previous post know I have my own health issues...so I told her if I called in I was going to take her to the ER at one of our local rackets, oops I mean Hospitals. She said she'd go so I called out of work.
We get to the Hospital about 7pm and they seem pretty busy, but I would expect that from all my previous visits to this same ER.
We wait...wait some more...the triage nurse sees her and forgets all about my wife's pain in her arm and concentrates on why she hasn't take some anxiety meds per PCP prescribed for her so I pipe up and tell the nurse she was worried about taking the meds because I SHOULD be at work leaving my wife to take care of our 2yr old son alone. At this time I think the light bulb came on and she acted like she understood why we were there. We got told to more to the next area and wait...wait some more...they call my wife's name to go see the doctor and have test..."oh sir you can't come back to the green area, no visitors allowed," well she's my wife and I don't think she wants to be alone but ok...I wait some more...about 30mins and no word so I go up to the counter to inquire about my wife...sir I can't tell you because our computer system is down. I told the nice lady to reboot the computer or have someone reboot the server because I need to know what's going on with my wife because NO ONE has told me anything. She explained what the "Green" area is...well simply put it's for patients who aren't in serious need of care and they think they can get them out faster than others. I was somewhat relieved so I sat down and read in my "City of Ashes" novel I had been reading in since we got there, and I think I had already ready about 3 chapters (sorry I read slow). About another 30mins go by and no one comes out to tell me anything and still no wife. I return to the counter to ask the nice lady AGAIN about my wife...guessing their system was up this time because she told me that my wife had a couple of x-rays taken and was waiting on the Radiologist to read them. I again returned to my seat and began to wait... She came out a few minutes later to tell me that the diagnosis was strained muscles. Like I said a RACKET!
Saturday:
I started this day off badly enough...guess I woke up on the "wrong side of the bed" but since I sleep alone because I work nights it's hard to say what's the "wrong" side. I was mean to my mom, wife, and son...well I guess all three anyways, and I'm sorry for that but I can admit it at least!
I ate, got ready for work, and got there ok. Things seemed to calm down and I thought it would just be like any other weekend at work.
I called my wife to check on her and she gave me the news that my SISTER was in the Racket, oops Hospital ER, with EXTREME pain is her right side...here I go again.
I called my mom and she informed he what was going on which didn't give me any details but enough to know I wouldn't need to leave work. My sister's kids were with their father (she has two girls & one boy). I told my supervisor what was going on but that I hoped she'd be ok so I didn't need to leave. I didn't hear anymore that night.
Sunday:
I got off from work and was driving home, so I called the same Hospital I had taken my wife to on Friday only to find out that she had been discharged...go figure it's a RACKET!
I called my mom and left a message.
I got home, got cleaned up, and went to bed.

When I got up I called my mom told me that my sister was still in pain and had to go to her PCP on Monday because the people at the RACKET wouldn't admit her and didn't know what was wrong.
Monday:
My sister went to her PCP who sent her to a OB who sent her to a surgeon who sent her to EXCEL Imagining (ALL part of the RACKET) to have ANOTHER (she had one Saturday at the RACKET) CT with contrast which came up clear so STILL no real answers!
I'm not sure where she goes from here except just take it easy and hope for the best...and this is "Modern Medicine"....sometimes I wonder?!
